In a desperate bid to prove he worships Wall Street enough to be allowed to remain president, Barack Obama has appointed General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt to the new White House group that will decide if CEOs are being treated well enough...It’s the latest move for a president who is extremely worried that some liberal on the Internet or all the voters who supported him in 2008 might think he’s some kind of commie softy who doesn’t know his place, which is to serve the nation’s biggest corporations with no questions asked.

Barbara Bush's exhortation to the middle-aged GW Bush as he ran a marathon (and chronicled in his book, Decision Points).
Who Are You Going to Believe--Me or Your Lying Eyes?
During the last presidential campaign, then-candidate Barack Obama offered America a vision of the possible. We could, he said, be a nation built on honor, not horror; one filled to overflowing with truth-seekers, not deniers. Above all, he said, business as usual would be in business no more.
Were we wrong to believe him, to believe in him? Was our desperation to leave behind the nastiness and meaness, the sneakiness and dishonesty of the Bush years so strong that we willingly blinded ourselves to what candidate-Obama did, not what he said? That answer can be found on the growing crop of car bumpers roughly denuded of Obama-Biden stickers, the President's screaming downward slide in popularity and effectiveness, and the DNC's crass and ineffective policy of funding faux Dem candidates who spit on Dems even as they close their greedy fingers around wads of DNC money.

Prison officials in Belgium are looking glum these days. GlobalPost.com reports that a felon was whisked away via helicopter from a prison near Bruges. This is the 2nd time in 2 years that a helicopter has been used to breakout a con from a Belgian prison.
